We are pleased to confirm Stephen Wolfram will be the featured presenter at the Reception Session. Stephen Wolfram is the creator of Mathematica and the Wolfram Language; the author of A New Kind of Science; and the founder and CEO of Wolfram Research. He has been a pioneer in the development and application of computational thinking, and has been responsible for many discoveries, inventions and innovations in science, technology and business. In May 2009, he released Wolfram|Alpha which has been widely regarded as a historic step in defining a new dimension for computation and artificial intelligence—and is now relied on by millions of people every day to compute answers both directly and through intelligent assistants such as Siri.

This lunchtime networking event will allow you to connect with the wider ICCS community. During the session, you will meet and greet peers far from your usual network and get to know more about each other through informal conversation. Sit down at a table, pick a question card, and let the others know more about your research and your interests. "Unconference" - Wednesday, 12:30-13:50
Turning the conference on its head! Stepping out of the conventional conference model, the Unconference session will create space for self-organised, peer-to-peer learning, collaboration and creativity over lunch! All conference participants will be able to propose "hosting" a session on a topic they’re interested in. Other participants will be invited to vote for the session that inspire them most. The top sessions will then be granted space to allow for open, interactive discussions and lively debates confronting diverse perspectives! Register here.

Spencer Wells has been confirmed as our keynote speaker for the Banquet Session. Spencer Wells is the founder and CEO at Insitome, former Explorer-in-Residence at National Geographic, and Director of the Genographic Project. Wells launched the Genographic Project in 2005 as a multiyear research initiative of the National Geographic Society. The Project's renowned scientists are using cutting-edge genetic and computational technologies to analyze historical patterns in DNA from participants around the world to better understand our shared genetic roots.
