NECSI's Complexity Salons are open gatherings which hold space for a growing community to discuss and celebrate actions related to complexity.

January 13th - Civics in a Distributed Society

The topic of this Salon discussion will be what civic engagement might look like in a decentralized society. Featuring guest speakers from MIT's Center for Civic Media.

The event will also be streamed online.

Future Salons

Future Complexity Salons will be focused on distributed networks of innovation and homelessness. Would you like to recommend a speaker? Tweet us your suggestions.

How does it work?

The salons are held every other Wednesday in NECSI's offices at 210 Broadway in Cambridge. Each month will highlight a different topic. The second Wednesday of each month will feature a seminar with a resident or guest speaker, and the fourth Wednesday will be an action-oriented session.

Past Salons

Past discussion topics have included the role complexity plays in Ebola and other outbreaks and ethnic violence.
